Designed to service long haul trans-pacific flights, the dramatic West Chevron Expansion at Vancouver International Airport (International Terminal Building) naturally celebrates the splendor of its gateway setting. Created to enhance first and last impressions of Vancouver, every surface and view is accentuated by natural patterns, ocean and mountain references, soothing palettes and light. The airport’s signature tree-form steel structural supports are embraced and reinterpreted as symbolic boat trusses arranged systematically to form a striking rotunda. Every element is designed to enhance the experience of the airport and strengthen its efficiency.
