Anna is an Intern Architect AIBC at SHIFT Architecture, originally from Kyiv where she studied at the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture and gained experience working on projects before moving to Vancouver in 2022. Her design approach is guided by careful attention to place—responding to what a site wants while creating architecture that welcomes both those who live in it and those who pass by. She enjoys the full spectrum of the design process, finding excitement in how architecture engages both the creative and analytical sides. Inspired by different cultures and their close ties to built form, Anna also spends her free time learning new languages. One project she’s especially proud of is Resilient Haunt, a competition proposal that reimagines a bomb shelter through modular, sustainable design using CLT panels and charred wood shingles.
