Heather Klassen
Associate | Architectural Technologist

Heather is an Associate and Architectural Technologist at SHIFT Architecture with a BCIT Architectural Science Degree. She approaches architecture as both a conceptual and functional art form—one that blends creative vision with technical precision, founded on a fundamental understanding of human scale and need. Fascinated by the process of translating design into buildable detail, she thrives on the challenge of solving spatial puzzles and finding elegant, efficient solutions that balance aesthetics, constructability, and client goals. With over a decade at SHIFT, Heather has been instrumental in shaping the studio’s technical excellence and collaborative culture. Her work on Slate & Ash, a multi-residential project along Vancouver’s Cambie Corridor, demonstrates her ability to navigate complex urban constraints while delivering refined, site-sensitive design. Inspired by nature’s geometry and the limitless potential of human creativity, she brings care and clarity to every stage of the design process. Outside the studio, she’s an advanced scuba diver, amateur pet photographer, and avid crocheter.
