New Water

CLIENT POLYGON HOMES INC.

New Water, a two-building, 150 unit development, is one of the first projects undertaken in the redevelopment of the River District neighbourhood of South Vancouver. Nestled on the Fraser River, this new mixed use neighbourhood is poised to be a landmark community, and one of the most desirable new places to live in Vancouver.

Showcasing the architectural language and spirit of the former industry of the waterfront site, industrial scaled elements and bold architectural moves set this project apart from others in the neighbourhood. A folded shroud, faced with a prominent metal channel, boldly announces the entry to the project.  In homage to the rich history of the lumber industry that once dominated the Fraser Waterfront, oversized timber framing supports the prominent and generous overhangs of balconies and main building entries.

At a full block in length, the development is carefully considered and sculpted to ensure its contribution the emerging neighbourhood remains significant over the coming years.
