Architectural Technician | Intern Architect

We are looking for a highly motivated Intern Architect or Architectural Technician to join our North Vancouver studio in a permanent full-time position.

This individual will be critical thinker who is creative, insightful, and focused on helping our team exceed client expectations.

As an Intern Architect or Technician you will work with our team on project phases to develop compete and accurate project documents. Working under senior staff direction, you will assist in the development of all aspects of design, detailing and documentation. This is a position with a future— you will be encouraged and supported to expand your knowledge and hone your skills, in order to make greater contributions to our practice over time.  

 

Key responsibilities

  • Participate in all phases of project development from schematic design through contract documentation and administration.

  • Collaborate and prepare presentation materials, design and construction documents

  • Review, analyze and solve technical and code-related problems

  • Ensure information flow within the team

  • Work with senior staff to coordinate consultants

 

Position Requirements

  • Must be registered with the AIBC, or eligible to be registered in the province of British Columbia

  • 3 years relevant experience

  • Ability to work within a team and meet deadlines

  • Proven record of design and technical excellence

  • Ability to work well with clients, contractors, consultants, and colleagues

  • Positive attitude, respectful manner and passion for design

  • Experience in design and detailing a variety of wood and concrete buildings

  • BIM documentation experience, proficiency in REVIT

  • Knowledge of regional building codes and legal standards
